A Little Thoughtfulness Goes a Long Way

In our high-tech, rapid-fire world it's easy to lose touch with the 'little' things that make so much difference in the way you're perceived by people who are important to your business.

Here's a simple thing you can be doing to help you make an impression that will cause prospects, clients and centers-of-influence to think highly of you . . . and THAT is the basis of all subtantial relationships in business.

Read on for this 'gem' of an idea you can use . . . NOW!

When Enough is Enough . . .

Seems to be a time of great activity in the 'schmoozing' venues of networking groups I am in. Unfortunately, it's also a time of great angst for many because of the misguided and often boorish behavior of some alleged networkers.

One of my favorite authors on the subject of networking -- Susan RoAne -- has some good ideas on how to network without overworking the very 'net' you're trying to work with . . .

Sorry, Familiarity CAN Breed Contempt

A recent study provides strong evidence that marketing communications -- especially advertisements -- are less likely to affect prospects if the advertiser is relying on using FREQUENCY and REPETITION (I call it 'saturation bombing'!) in their advertising.

A Marketing War?

Marketing today is polarized, it seems, around those who would seek to market using permission and those who seek to use interruption . . . Here's a thought on this controversy and the implications of it.

President Reagan Remembered

President Reagan was many things to many people, but he was a lover of entrepreneurs . . . here's a posting from a great weblog that reminds us of why we've all lost a great supporter this week

The Road To Hell . . .

Seth Godin has a posting on his blog that expresses the tedium that comes from attempting to benchmark various aspects of our lives. In theory, benchmarking is a means to an end of constant improvement; in reality it often becomes more problematic than helpful.

I've long held the belief that, "The road to Hell is paved . . . with comparisons". Substitute the word benchmarks for comparisons and the statement's just as valid.

Way to go, Seth! Good one. Thank you.
